One of the eight natural wonders of the world, Niagara Falls has been dazzling tourists since the 1820s. Nearly 200 feet high, the falls propels more than 6 million cubic feet of water over its crest during peak tourist hours.

Theodore Roosevelt saw the need to preserve Niagara Falls as a state park, and as a Legislator in the 1880s worked hard to do so. Today, Niagara Reservation State Park, the oldest state park in the nation, provides incredible observation points of the falls, including a walk beneath the cascading Niagara River at the Cave of the Winds, an elevator ride to the base of the cataracts and the legendary Maid of the Mist boat ride that carries spectators to the base of the tumbling water.
